Opticore — Ray Optics Sandbox
Opticore is now live on Scinopy. It is an interactive ray optics simulation where you can build and explore optical systems directly in your browser — no install, no plugins.
What you can do:
- Place laser sources and aim them freely in any direction
- Add plane mirrors, glass slabs, prisms, thin lenses, and refractive interfaces
- Watch rays trace and refract in real time as you drag, rotate, or resize any element
- See image construction lines that show exactly where virtual and real images form
- Toggle angle labels to read the angle of incidence and refraction at every surface
- Measure distances with the built-in ruler and overlay a protractor for angular measurements
- Enable the paraxial engine to overlay ideal thin-lens focal predictions alongside full ray traces
- Zoom and pan the workspace freely, with a live scale bar for reference
- Undo and redo any change to the scene
- Fullscreen mode on desktop; auto-landscape prompt on mobile phones
